Russian UAV attack Turkish-owned cargo ship in Black Sea

The Russian Federation carried out a deliberate strike on a Turkish vessel, causing a fire and injuring two crew members.

According to the Ukrainian Navy, the Russian forcesattacked the bulk carrier ANT with UAVs during the night. The ship, flying the flag of Vanuatu and owned by a Turkish company, was sailing from one of the ports in Odessa region to Turkey with cargo on board.

 

 

As a result of the strike on the ship’s superstructure, a fire broke out. Thanks to the coordinated and professional actions of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service and the Ukrainian Navy, the fire was quickly contained.

Two injured crew members were evacuated by Ukrainian Navy boats and taken to a medical facility.
