Russian forces continued widespread attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, killing at least one person and injuring dozens, while damaging homes, infrastructure, and energy facilities in several regions.

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and seven others injured, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin. A wave of drone strikes, air attacks, and artillery shelling hit numerous settlements, including Beryslav, Bilozerka, Chornobaivka, and the regional capital Kherson. The assaults damaged three apartment buildings, 26 private homes, and several vehicles.

In the Kyiv region, a 51-year-old woman was injured in the Brovary district following a Russian attack that also sparked a fire in a residential building. Emergency services extinguished the blaze, and the victim was hospitalized.

Further east, Russian forces struck railway infrastructure in the Kharkiv region overnight on April 20. According to Ukraine’s Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the attack damaged rolling stock, depot repair facilities, power systems, and a station building. No casualties were reported, and repair work is ongoing.

The Kharkiv region also faced sustained bombardment throughout April 19, with nine people reported injured across the region, including in the city of Izium and surrounding communities. Attacks involved multiple weapons systems, including guided aerial bombs, rocket launchers, and dozens of drones. Civilian infrastructure suffered extensive damage, including homes, fuel stations, schools, and medical facilities.

In the southern Mykolaiv region, drone strikes targeted critical and energy infrastructure. Falling debris temporarily cut power to parts of the regional capital. Authorities reported damage to apartment blocks, private homes, tram tracks, and power lines, though no casualties were recorded.

Heavy shelling and drone attacks also struck the Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly in Nikopol district and the city of Kryvyi Rih. Six people were injured, including a 74-year-old man in serious condition. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and businesses sustained damage, and fires broke out in several areas.

In the Sumy region, nearly 70 strikes were recorded across 23 settlements in 13 communities. Three civilians were injured in separate drone attacks. The bombardment, involving mortars, artillery, drones, and guided bombs, damaged residential buildings, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure.

Meanwhile, in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 596 strikes on 39 settlements over the same period, injuring four people. The attacks included airstrikes, artillery fire, multiple-launch rocket systems, and hundreds of drones—many of them FPV-type. Authorities received more than 150 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.

In the Donetsk region, Russian forces carried out intense shelling and drone attacks on frontline settlements, including Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Bilenke, and Mykolaipillia. Civilian infrastructure was damaged across multiple locations, including residential buildings, administrative facilities, educational institutions, and local enterprises.

In Kramatorsk, a guided air bomb struck the city, damaging an educational facility, administrative buildings, and an industrial site. In Druzhkivka, a residential high-rise was hit by a drone, while other settlements reported damage to homes and civilian vehicles as a result of FPV drone attacks and shelling.

Authorities reported no confirmed casualties in the region, despite widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure.

In the Poltava region, Russian forces launched a morning attack targeting the Poltava district. Ukrainian air defence systems were activated during the strike. As a result of falling debris onto the grounds of a local enterprise, building windows were damaged and two vehicles were hit. Two people sustained moderate injuries. According to regional authorities, they are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
