Polish and allied NATO aircraft have been scrambled amid an air raid alert in Ukraine, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported.
According to the statement, Polish and NATO aircraft were deployed in response to “the activity of drones carrying out strikes on targets in western Ukraine.”
Ground-based air defence and radar reconnaissance systems were also placed at their highest level of readiness.
As of Thursday morning, the NATO operation in Polish airspace was continuing.
According to the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA), airports in eastern Poland suspended operations.
