Today marks the 107th anniversary of the founding of the Odesa Film Studio — one of the oldest and most renowned film studios in Europe, and a true symbol of Ukrainian cinema.

The history of the Odesa Film Studio dates back to 1907, when the first private film ateliers and production companies appeared in Odessa. This laid the foundation for a future cinematic hub that later became one of the most prominent studios in Eastern Europe. Overall, the history of Odessa’s film production spans 119 years.

Over more than a century of creative work, the Odesa Film Studio has given the world dozens of iconic films, become a training ground for outstanding directors, actors, and screenwriters, and formed a unique artistic tradition that continues to this day.

The studio remains an important center of Ukrainian culture — a symbol of creative freedom, professionalism, and dedication to the art of cinema.

The Odesa Film Studio is not only a legendary part of history but also an important element of modern Ukrainian culture, a space of creativity, professionalism, and bold artistic choices.
