Russian forces carried out a large-scale wave of attacks across several regions of Ukraine over the past day, leaving civilians dead and injured and causing widespread destruction, according to regional authorities.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, one person was killed and seven others injured as a result of strikes on the city of Zaporizhzhia and nearby areas. The head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, said Russian forces launched five missiles at the regional center.
In addition, 20 airstrikes targeted a number of settlements, including Yurkivka, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Danylivka, Myrne, Babash, Omelnyk, Dolynka, Zalivne, Vasynivka, Kopani, Charivne, Verkhna Tersa, and Vozdvyzhivka. The region also faced a massive drone assault. Around 480 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types—mostly FPV drones—struck dozens of settlements, including Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvakha, Kushuhum, Balabyne, Bilenke, Yurkivka, Mariivka, Tavriiske, Zapasne, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Myrne, Hirke, Zelene, Solodke, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Tsvitkove, and Olenokostiantynivka. Four strikes from multiple launch rocket systems were recorded in Myrne, Olenokostiantynivka, and Mala Tokmachka, while 311 artillery strikes hit numerous frontline communities across the region.
Authorities reported 63 cases of damage to infrastructure, residential buildings, vehicles, and outbuildings.

In the Sumy region, Russian forces attacked 26 settlements over the past day, injuring four people, according to the National Police. In the Hlukhiv community, a five-year-old girl suffered an acute stress reaction after a drone strike damaged two private homes, an apartment building, and a kindergarten.
In the Trostianets community, a 59-year-old man was injured in a UAV strike. In the Sumy community, a drone hit a car, injuring a 13-year-old boy and his 45-year-old father, and damaging a private home. Another house was damaged in the Bilopillia community. Police and explosive ordnance teams worked at the sites, documenting damage and assisting residents.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces attacked the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts more than 20 times using drones and artillery. Regional head Oleksandr Hancha reported that strikes in the Synelnykove district hit the Shakhtarske, Vasylkivska, and Slovianska communities, sparking a fire and damaging homes and infrastructure. A 76-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized in moderate condition.
In the Nikopol district, attacks targeted the city of Nikopol as well as the Myrivska, Marhanetska, Chervonohryhorivska, and Pokrovska communities, where residential buildings were damaged.
In the Kherson region, Russian forces struck 38 settlements using drones, artillery, and aircraft, injuring eight people. Regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said the attacks hit residential areas and social infrastructure, damaging three apartment buildings and 26 private homes, as well as administrative buildings, offices, farm structures, agricultural equipment, garages, and vehicles.
Separately, Russian troops shelled the central district of Kherson using multiple launch rocket systems. At least two private homes and a garage were destroyed. A man was killed after being trapped under the rubble of one of the buildings, and his identity is still being established. Two more civilians—a 65-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman—were injured, suffering concussions, blast injuries, and closed head trauma. The woman was hospitalized in moderate condition, while the man was treated at the scene.
In the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone struck an electric commuter train on the Slatyne–Kharkiv route early on March 24. According to prosecutors, an FPV drone hit a railcar while the train was standing at Slatyne station.
A 61-year-old passenger was killed. The train driver and assistant suffered acute stress reactions. Emergency services are working at the scene.
In the Poltava region, two people were killed and seven others injured, including one child, following Russian strikes in the city of Poltava and surrounding district. Strikes damaged residential buildings, a hotel, and industrial facilities. Fires broke out but were extinguished by firefighters.
