Maersk has increased rates for rail container services between the Romanian port of Constanța and Ukrainian terminals, with the sharpest increase affecting export services via Ternopil, where rates rose by 57%.

According to the company, the updated rates will remain in effect through October 31, 2026. They apply to both import and export shipments via terminals in Ternopil and Odessa.
On the route via Ternopil, the export rate for both 20-foot and 40-foot containers increased from $1,400 to $2,200. The cost of transportation therefore rose by $800, or 57.1%, Latifundist.com reported.
Import services via Ternopil have also become more expensive. The rate for a 20-foot container increased from $2,400 to $2,600, an increase of 8.3%. For a 40-foot container, the new rate is $2,800, up 16.7% from the previous tariff.
Export shipments via the Odessa terminal will cost $2,500 for both 20-foot and 40-foot containers, compared with $2,000 previously. This represents an increase of $500, or 25%.
The import rate via Odessa for a 20-foot container increased from $2,000 to $2,600, up 30%, while the rate for a 40-foot container rose to $2,800, an increase of 40%.
