Russian forces on certain front-line directions are mostly replenishing personnel losses rather than increasing troop numbers, while heavy equipment is used only in a limited way due to the nature of modern warfare.
This was reported on television by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group.
“If we look at our directions, Russian personnel is more often being replenished than accumulated. In other words, it is being restored to the level it was at before they began actively conducting offensive actions,” he said.
According to the spokesperson, this refers to maintaining unit strength after losses during active offensive operations, rather than significantly expanding troop groupings.
“As for equipment, it is generally not used very actively, and this is understandable. This is the nature of modern warfare: due to a large ‘kill zone’ of about 20 kilometers, equipment usually cannot pass — including tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. As for motorcycles and quad bikes, they can get through, but it is hard to even call them military equipment,” Trehubov added.
