On 21 March 2026, at 6.30pm, the Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" of Milan will host an extraordinary music event, which is the result of the collaboration between the Rotary Club Milano Digital, the Rotary Club Chișinău (Moldova) and international musical institutions.

The charitable project “Builders of Peace through Musical Culture" will feature five young Moldovan talents from the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Music Lyceum in Chișinău, actively supported by Rotary through donations and merit-based awards.

The young Moldovan musicians, aged between 10 and 18, invited to Milan for an advanced training residency, will have the unique opportunity to engage with some of the world’s most renowned musical institutions: the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” of Milan and the Accademy of Teatro alla Scala. The concert represents the culmination of this developmental journey, with the Moldovan artists performing alongside some of the Conservatory’s finest students.

The programme will include works for violin and piano by Henri Vieuxtemps, Pablo de Sarasate, Henryk Wieniawski, George Enescu, Maurice Ravel, Franz Liszt, Alexander Scriabin, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Frédéric Chopin.

The evening will be attended by Riccardo Di Bari, Governor of Rotary District 2041; H.E. Oleg Nica, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Italy; H.E. Giuseppe Maria Perricone, Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Moldova; H.E. Andrey Kartysh, Consul General of Ukraine in Milan; Svetlana Bivol, Director of the Moldovan Philharmonic; as well as representatives of the Municipality of Milan.

The charity purpose of the music event is the fund raising in favour of the Rotary Club Odessa International for its project “A Car For All – Odessa”. This project is aimed to purchase a minibus dedicated to transporting children with disabilities, enabling them to take part in school and sport activities. The project particularly supports children whose families have been affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.

It also assists families living in remote areas who do not own a car or cannot use public transport due to physical or organisational barriers—circumstances that often lead to social isolation and reduced opportunities for development and rehabilitation.

Further information on the project is available on the website of the Rotary Club Odessa International.

The project is carried out under the aegis of Rotary International, a worldwide network of over 1.2 million professionals committed to creating positive change. The Rotary Club Milano Digital, leading the initiative, has focused on the concept of “digital connection” and the strength of its partnership with the Rotary Club Chișinău to turn an ideal vision into a concrete project for inclusion.
