Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani does not consider a Russian attack on NATO countries likely, as he believes such an attack would result in Russia’s defeat.

“I don't think Russia will attack NATO, and certainly what they're doing from Moscow shouldn't be underestimated. I'm thinking of cyberattacks,” Tajani said.
According to him, Western countries are organised and respond to and repel cyberattacks on a daily basis, so there is no need to create a “climate of agitation and fear.”
“I don't think we should be overly alarmed. I'm always opposed to creating a climate of agitation and fear. Also because a Russian attack against the West would leave Russia the loser,” the minister stressed.
For this reason, Tajani added, he does not believe Russian President Vladimir Putin would make the mistake of launching an attack that would result in Russia’s defeat.
