During the night of August 10 (starting at 6:00 p.m. on August 9), Russian forces launched an air attack against Ukraine using one Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missile, three Banderol loitering munitions fired from the airspace over the Black Sea, and 126 attack drones, including Shahed UAVs (some jet-powered), Gerbera drones, and Parodiya decoy drones.
The drones were launched from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk region and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
The attack was repelled by Ukrainian Air Force aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 92 enemy aerial targets, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones, as well as all three Banderol loitering munitions over northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Authorities recorded 31 drone strikes at 22 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at two additional sites.
The guided missile failed to reach its target due to active countermeasures. Information on where it ultimately fell is still being clarified.
