Moldova’s airspace was violated twice over the past 24 hours as a result of unauthorised drone incursions.
NewsMaker reported this, citing the Moldovan Ministry of Defence.
According to the ministry, the first drone entered Moldovan airspace at 10:33 on Monday, September 14, from the direction of the village of Maiaky in the Odessa region. It flew about 500 metres near the village of Palanca in Moldova and returned to Ukrainian airspace a minute later. The UAV was spotted by Moldovan and Ukrainian border guards.
The second UAV was detected crossing the Moldovan border at 11:09. The aircraft entered Moldovan airspace from Ukraine near the village of Cioburciu and left it near the village of Kuchurhan in the Odessa region, heading towards the village of Stepove.
The Moldovan Defence Ministry suggested that the drones had entered Moldovan territory during Russia’s massive aerial attack on Ukraine, particularly the Odessa region.
